1999 LMOP landfill Gas Project of
the Year.
"LES
was instrumental in the County winning the 1999 US EPA Landfill Methane
Outreach Program Project of the Year for the Kiefer Landfill
Gas-to-Energy facility by utilizing their extensive specialized
experience in LFG power systems in the design and build of the
facility allowing construction to occur in a timely manner and by
operating the facility with top efficiency."
- Kathy Garcia
Associate Engineer
County of Sacramento
"We've been working with Landfill Energy Systems on landfill
gas utilization projects since 1991. Over the past eleven
years LES has developed three separate projects at the site and
continues to perform to the County's
expectations."

Landfill Energy
Systems is an Industry Ally with the Landfill Methane
Out Reach Program, known as LMOP, and our Sacramento
County project was designated as LMOP Project of the Year
2000. LMOP is part of the Environmental Protection Agency
and was created as part of the Presidential Climate Change
Action Plan. It is a voluntary program designed to
encourage and facilitate the development of
environmentally and economically sound Landfill Gas
projects.
Landfill Energy Systems is a founding
member of the (MIPPA) and sits on its Steering Committee.
MIPPA is comprised of independent power generators throughout
Michigan using alternative fuel sources including landfill gas,
hydro, waste wood and solid waste. MIPPA was formed to promote
and support the common interests of both existing and developing
independent power facilities; to enhance the role of
independent power producers in a deregulated generation
market; and maintain the viability of renewable energy.
LES has successfully lobbied the Michigan state
legislature on behalf of MIPPA's interests during the
Michigan electric deregulation process and has provided
expert testimony on behalf of MIPPA to the Michigan
Public Service Commission.
